Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Geography 2020

Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Geography 2020 at the Department of Sociology and Human Geography is provided for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Geography or related fields. The position is for a period of 3 years and provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop their research interests on an independent basis, thus preparing the Fellow for a future academic career.

Eligibility for Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Geography 2020:

• Applicants must hold a PhD in Human Geography or equivalent. Candidates from other disciplinary backgrounds must demonstrate in their application letter and project proposal that their scientific background falls within the scope of Human Geography. 
• The doctoral dissertation must be submitted for evaluation by the closing application date. 
• The suggested project must fall within the main areas of human geographic research at the Department: Climate change adaptation and transformations; Development and politics; Economic and labor geography; and, Urban studies and planning.
• Applicants must have the capacity for independent academic work at a high level, preferably documented through publications in high-quality international journals.
• Emphasis will be placed on the quality of the research proposal and on the applicant’s academic and personal competence to carry out the suggested research.
• Teaching qualifications are also valuable. Qualifications for teaching within development geography and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are particularly welcome.

• Salary of NOK 523,200-605,500 per annum depending on qualifications.
