PhD Research Fellow in Physical Oceanography 2020 is available at the Department of Geosciences. The fellowship period is up to 4 years, with 3 years devoted to research. The position entails a compulsory workload of 25% that may consist of teaching, supervision duties, and research assistance. The project supervisors are in the Department of Geosciences, in the sections for Meteorology and Oceanography, and in Geography and Hydrology.
Eligibility for PhD Research Fellow in Physical Oceanography 2020:
- A master’s degree or equivalent in physical oceanography, dynamical meteorology, applied mathematics or physics. Candidates without a Master’s degree have until 30 June 2020 to complete the final exam.
- Foreign completed degree (M.Sc.-level) corresponding to a minimum of four years in the Norwegian educational system.
- Experience working with complex systems through numerical modeling, preferably on the global scale in the framework of an Earth System Model.
- Knowledge of geophysical fluid dynamics.
