A new class of anti-tuberculosis drugs: Design and synthesis of MetX inhibitors — Funded Ph.D. project has been initiated by the Victoria University of Wellington.

Project Outline:

The project under the supervision of Dr. Farah Lamiable-Oulaidi, Professor Peter Tyler, and Dr. Wanting Jiao is designed to maximize the chance of developing a successful drug to treat Tuberculosis by using enzymatic transition-state analysis.

Eligibility criteria for Ph.D. Positions for International Students in New Zealand 2022:

• It is essential that the successful applicant has a background in organic chemistry.
• Applicants will have a BSc (Hons), MSc, or equivalent degree in chemistry with a focus on organic chemistry.
• International applicants will require to fill an exemption form to enter the country and meet Victoria University of Wellington's English language requirement.
