Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History is offering Ph.D. position on the "Archaeobotany of Exchange and Migration in Asia or eastern Africa", 2017 to candidates who wish to conduct research at the Archaeobotany Laboratory.
Eligibility criteria:
- Applicants of Ph.D. position on the "Archaeobotany of Exchange and Migration in Asia or eastern Africa", 2017 must have obtained or expect to obtain a Master's degree or an equivalent of German diploma in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a relevant area.
- Training and experience in the field of Anthropology or Archaeology or laboratory research are essential.
- Candidates applying for Ph.D. position on the "Archaeobotany of Exchange and Migration in Asia or eastern Africa", 2017 should be eager to learn and explore research topics in the archaeological sciences.
- Applicants should be willing to run their own research agenda and also work as a part of a research team.
- The following qualifications will be advantageous for the Ph.D. position:
- Experience with laboratory techniques in the archaeological sciences or biological sciences, whether in archaeobotany or other areas.
- Experience working in Mongolia, Central Asia, China, or anywhere in the ex-Soviet regions, or in archaeological investigations in northeastern Africa.
- Writing experience of scientific peer-reviewed publication and research reports.
- Knowledge in relevant languages.
- Knowledge of history and archaeology of Central Asia or eastern Africa.
