PhD Fellowship in Medicinal Chemistry at Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology 2021

The University of Copenhagen is offering a three-year Ph.D. fellowship in medicinal chemistry. The Ph.D. fellowship is co-financed by the Innovation Fund, GUDP, Novo Nordisk Foundation, and Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology. The fellowship is available from 15 June 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Project Description: The project is aimed at the development of drug candidates for the disease area intersecting at inflammatory, metabolic and infectious diseases, and effects on cognition, targeting lipid sensing G protein-coupled receptors. The project will involve ligand design, synthetic method development, including synthesis of lipid mediators, and chemical and pharmacological characterization of compounds.

Eligibility criteria for PhD Fellowship in Medicinal Chemistry at Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology 2021:

• Applicants from all nationalities are eligible.
• Applicants must successfully enroll as Ph.D. students at the Graduate School at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
• Applicants must possess relevant skills and knowledge in the required program.
• Applicants must possess a corresponding to a Danish master’s degree in medicinal chemistry or related areas prior to the starting date.
• Applicants must demonstrate fluency in English and excellent communication skills.
