Project description
NAD loss is turning out to be a key aspect of aging. The consumption of molecular precursors such as nicotinamide riboside and nicotinamide mononucleotide can raise NAD levels, which is significant. This initiative examines the use of new NAD precursors in the aging fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. The PhD candidate will combine work with fruit flies and tracked biotechnologies to create algorithms that can forecast fly aging in flies.
