Faculty of Engineering and Science for MPhil/PhD Students Scholarship: Fabrication of three-dimensional printed drug-eluting devices for women’s health applications
This project aims to develop 3D-printed drug-eluting implants for women's health applications to achieve customized drug release profiles. The research, based at the University of Greenwich (Medway campus), will focus on investigating key process parameters affecting drug release. The successful candidate will receive technical training in experimental design, 3D printing techniques, and characterization methods. Additionally, training in research communication and impact will be provided to enhance the dissemination of research findings and potential impact.
Eligibility criteria:
- A taught master's degree with a minimum average of 60% in all areas of assessment (UK or UK equivalent) in a suitable field for the planned research project, or a first-class or second-class, First Division (Upper Second Class) honors degree.
- A language proficiency score of at least IELTS 6.5 (in all test elements) or an equivalent UK VISA and Immigration secure English Language Test is required for individuals whose first language is not English and/or who come from countries where English is not the majority spoken language (as recognized by the UKBA).
- Your program is in the faculty of Engineering and Science, and a language proficiency score of at least IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in all test elements or something equivalent is required.
- Unless the aforementioned degree was conferred in an English-speaking nation (such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, etc.) and accepted by the UKBA.
Value of the application:
- Year 1: £16,062 (FT) or pro-rata (PT)
- Year 2: In line with UKRI rate
- Year 3: In line with UKRI rate
In addition, the successful candidate will receive a contribution to tuition fees equivalent to the university’s Home rate, currently £4,596 (FT) or pro-rata (PT), for the duration of their scholarship. International applicants will need to pay the remainder tuition fee for the duration of their scholarship. This fee is subject to an annual increase.
