The African Water Association is offering scholarships for young water and sanitation professionals in West Africa as a part of its Research and Capacity Building Program.
Eligibility for African Young Water and Sanitation Professionals (AfYWSP) Scholarships, 2018:
- Applicants of African Young Water and Sanitation Professionals (AfYWSP) Scholarships, 2018 must be a national citizen of a West African country.
- Applicants must have registered in their academic institutions.
- Candidates must be able to speak and write fluently in the language used by the academic institution.
- The average of the candidate must be average greater than or equal to 12/20 or B in Master I to be eligible for African Young Water and Sanitation Professionals (AfYWSP) Scholarships, 2018.
- The candidates must submit an application file that includes the last diploma, the curriculum vitae, the research proposal, three letters of recommendation (one should be from the academic supervisor), the transcripts of Master 1, a letter of motivation and a plan of action for the studies.
- Female candidates are given more preference over the others.
Selection criteria:
- Applicants of African Young Water and Sanitation Professionals (AfYWSP) Scholarships, 2018 are selected based on the relevance and significance to the objectives of AfWA's programs and the needs and challenges of the water and sanitation sector.
- Appropriateness, feasibility and innovation of the research proposed are some of the key factors that used for the assessments.
- Letter of commitment and motivation letter of the candidate is also considered for selecting the applicants.
