Eligibility

  • The applicants must be full-time journalists.
  • The fellowship is not open for Part-time writers.
  • He/She should have at least three years of experience in covering subject areas like science, technology, the environment, or medicine.
  • The applicant must be a reporter, writer, editor, producer, illustrator, filmmaker, or photojournalist.
  • They can also work for newspapers, magazines, television, radio, and digital media.

Additional requirements

  • The applicants must reside full-time in the Boston/Cambridge area for the academic year.
  • He/She should attend the field trips, seminars, and required training sessions hosted by the Knight Science Journalism Fellowships.
  • Participation of the candidates in at least one science course per semester.
  • The applicants must also produce two short journalistic works for the programme’s magazine.
  • For International candidates, J-1 visa must be required from the U.S. State Department after being awarded the Fellowship.
