  • Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) is providing Summer Training in the  Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, 2017 to graduate and undergraduate students of engineering and science disciplines.
  • The Summer Training in the  Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, 2017 lasts for a maximum of 10 weeks from May to July every year.
  • The following areas are open for students to work on:
    • Molecular biophysics
    • Structural-function-folding relationship 
    • Biocatalysis, Biosensor & Biofuel cell 
    • Plant Genetic Engineering 
    • Biological Control of Insect Pests 
    • Stem Cell Biology 
    • Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Carbohydrate Enzymes 
    • Protein structure, dynamics & aggregation 
    • Hormone-regulated Gene Expression
    • Enzyme and Microbial Technology 
    • Molecular Fingerprinting and Expression Systems in Food Grade bacteria 
    • Protein structure, dynamics & aggregation 
    • Metabolic Engineering 
    • Protein engineering & protein function 
    • Environmental bioremediation, Bioprocess development (upstream to downstream) 
    • Gene Therapy for Viral and Metabolic Diseases 
    • Plant Cell and Tissue Culture 
  • Students with a knack in chemical, physical or life sciences or related engineering disciplines and a zeal for research can contact the faculty members.
  • Successful candidates of Summer Training in the  Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, 2017 are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 5000/- to get the admission.
  • Candidates may be provided accommodation on request at the hostels of IITG.
