Eligibility

  • The Newton-Bhabha Ph.D. placement program is open to Indian and UK nationals.
  • UK scholars pursuing their Ph.D. at a UK home institution are eligible to apply.
  • Indian scholars enrolled at Indian higher education institution qualify for the Newton-Bhabha Ph.D. placement program
  • Indian applicants applying for Life Sciences must be in the second or third year of their Ph.D. at an Indian institution.
  • Indian applicants applying for STEM subjects must be an INSPIRE Ph.D. Senior Research Fellow of batch 2013.
  • Both UK and Indian scholars must have a valid passport before applying for the funding.
  • Only after completion of the Newton Bhabha Ph.D. placement program, the scholar would be required to submit their PhD thesis.
  • Applicants must enclose the supplementary documents required.
  • Must include confirmation from the host university that they will accept the scholar and support them with their research.
  • The application form and supporting documents must have been completed in English.
  • The applicant must return to his/her home institution to complete their Ph.D. after the end of the visit.
