Leiden University Mandela Scholarship Fund, 2020

Leiden University is offering scholarships to South African students who intend to study at the University for one semester. The duration of the scholarship is for 5 months.

Eligibility for Leiden University Mandela Scholarship Fund, 2020:

• The candidates applying for Leiden University Mandela Scholarship Fund, 2020 should be permanent residents fo South Africa.
• The applicants should be enrolled at a university in South Africa.
• The candidates should be accepted for a semester as study abroad students or exchange students at the Leiden University.
• The applicants are expected to have the motivation to improve their knowledge to contribute towards the South African development.
• The candidates should return to South Africa after their study at the Leiden University.

Documents required for Leiden University Mandela Scholarship Fund, 2020:

• The applicants for Leiden University Mandela Scholarship Fund, 2020 should submit an admission letter to the university for a study abroad or exchange program.
• The candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, academic transcripts, and two letter of recommendation.
• The applicants should also submit passport copy, the result of other scholarship applications, and a proof that they can support themselves financially.

Selection Criteria

• The candidates applying for Leiden University Mandela Scholarship Fund, 2020 are selected on the basis of their academic merit.
• The applicants are also evaluated based on their motivation towards the development of South Africa.

Value of Leiden University Mandela Scholarship Fund, 2020:

• Tuition fees for a one-semester study abroad programme (if applicable)
• Note: exchange students are exempted from tuition fees on the basis of the exchange agreement
• Living allowance: EUR 1000 per month
