The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide.
We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the Network and Telecommunications
Unit. The position will be based in Rome, Italy. The Internship will be for a period of 6 months
starting from as soon as possible.

Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Head of Network and Telecommunication team, the selected
candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Perform daily LAN/WAN administration tasks
  • Provide 2nd level LAN/WAN support to the IT service desk
  • Maintain Network Documentation: diagrams, manuals and general documentation
  • 2nd level support of HQ network infrastructure: Core switch, access switches, routers, WiFi

Eligibility: 

  • Bachelor in Computer Science or Electronics and currently enrolled in a Masters in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering
  • Have attended courses in the last 12 months
  • Knowledge of Local and Wide Area Networks (LANs/WANs) principles
  • Good general IT skills
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash scripting/Python)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English and excellent communication skills
