Infrastructure Strategy Data Engineer Intern

Eligibility

• Applicants must be currently pursuing a BA/BS degree
• Applicants are required to have 4+ experience in programming.
• Candidates who are are well versed in Set Theory and Relational Algebra and statistics fundamentals are preferred.
• He/She must be proficient in SQL.
• Applicants are required to have experience with at least one scripting language PYTHON, JAVA, PERL, PHP, C++, etc. is required.
• Candidates must showcase problem-solving ability.
• He/She must have expertise in providing practical business insights from large, complex data sets.
• Candidates should have the ability to Understand Datawarehousing concepts ETL, OLAP vs. OLTP, Slowly Changing Dimensions a big plus.
• Applicants must be proficient in designing efficient and robust ETL workflows.
• Dashboarding / Reporting with any BI tool (Microstrategy, Tableau, Business Objects etc.) is a plus.
• Applicants are required to have effective interpersonal skills and taking up diverse roles: consultant, leader, liaison, customer, owner, peer, etc.
• Candidates with experience in hardware or Technical Operations that supports a large scale website.
• Candidates must be able to work in high energy environment.

Responsibilities

• Applicants must provide assistance in developing tools.
• Applicants must create and manage failure and trend analysis.
• Candidates will be working alongside internal technical operations teams to automate data collection, define metrics, build analytical models, forecasts and synthesize relevant data.
• Candidates will be focused on managing, parsing, collecting, analyzing and visualizing large sets of data to turn information into insights using multiple platforms.
• Applicants must accept the liberty to create and drive impact for Facebook.
• Applicants must be leverage tools like Hadoop, SQL, R, Python, Java, Oracle, and Excel drives analytics and performing or reporting data extraction from MySQL/Oracle/hive leveraging a highly extensive data set.
