Harkness Fellowships, 2018-19

The Commonwealth Fund is offering Harkness Fellowships, 2018-19 to mid-career health services researchers and practitioners from the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Canada, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, and New Zealand in Health Care Policy and Practice.
The fellows should spend 12 months conducting research and working with leading U.S. health policy experts in the US.

Eligibility

• The applicants for Harkness Fellowships, 2018-19 should be citizens and permanent residents of the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Canada, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.
• The candidates should show promise as a policy-oriented health services researcher or practitioner (clinician, health services manager, government official, or journalist).
• The applicants should have expertise in health policy issues.
• The candidates should have a track record of policy analysis, clinical leadership, informing health policy through research, or health services.
• The applicants should have masters of a doctorate in the fields of health policy research, health care services, or a related discipline, like political science, or economics.
• The candidates who are academically based should be at a mid-career level.

Documents required

• The applicants for Harkness Fellowships, 2018-19 should submit a curriculum vitae and a reference letter from department chair or from the director of their institution.
• The candidates should submit three professional references from senior level managers, policymakers, or senior health policy researchers who can comment on the applicant's work and their potential to contribute to the proposed project. 
• The applicants should also submit three published articles and professional objectives' statement.

Value of the fellowship

The recipients get U.S. $130,000 towards living allowance, round-trip airfare to the US, health insurance, and project-related travel, research, conferences.
