Eligibility

  • The Fulbright U.S.-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Program is open to Thai nationals.
  • Applicants must not be exceeding 58 years of age at the time of application.
  • Applicants must be in a good state of health.
  • The program is open to university, faculty, foreign ministry or other government officials.
  • Professional staff of the private sector, think tanks, and other NGOs in the ASEAN Member States are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be physically present in Thailand at the time of interview.
  • He/She must be residing in Thailand throughout the nomination and selection process.
  • Applicants are required to return to Thailand upon completion of the U.S. stay.
  • Applicants must hold a Master’s Degree or higher to be eligible for the Fulbright U.S.-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Program.
  • Applicants must be fluent in English language.
  • Candidates with a significant record of scholarly or professional accomplishment will be considered.
  • He/She must be able to participate fully in every activity organized by Fulbright Thailand.
  • Must be able to take leave from his/her home institution or post.
  • Applicants must be able to serve as a resource person and a cultural ambassador in the United States.

Note

  • Applicants holding U.S. immigrant visas or permanent U.S. resident cards (green cards), or dual (Thai and U.S.) citizenships are not eligible to apply.
