Emerging Voices Fellowship, Pen Center USA 2016

Eligibility

• The Emerging Voices Fellowship is open to US citizens.
• Applicants who have valid documentation to apply for the Emerging Voices Fellowship are eligible.
• Selected candidates must live in Los Angeles for the duration of the program.
• There are no funds available for relocation.
• Writers who are over the age of 21 are eligible for the Emerging Voices Fellowship.

Documents Required

• Applicants must provide two current letters of recommendation.
• Applicants need to provide the names and contact details of the referees.
• Applicants must submit a professional CV and outline their education, experience and publishing credits.
• Applicants are required to submit a writing sample of up to 20 pages of fiction or creative nonfiction, or 10 pages of poetry. 

Benefits

• The applicants will leave with seven months of guidance from a professional mentor and written notes on their current writing project.
• Applicants will have a clear plan for finishing their project.
• He/She will gain experience in public reading.
• Applicants will learn craft tips and valuable advice from established authors.
• Will receive an editing guide from a professional copy editor.
• He/She will have the opportunity to gain inside knowledge of publishers, publishing from agents and editors.
• Will receive an author photo and bio.
