Eligibility criteria:

  • CERN is conducting CERN openlab Summer Student Program, 2017 which is open to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics.
  • Candidates applying for CERN openlab Summer Student Program, 2017 must have completed at least 3 years of their full-time undergraduate or graduate study at university level by next spring (Summer 2017).
  • Selected candidates of the summer program will be registered as students of CERN during their stay.
  • Students who are expecting to graduate in Summer 2017 are also eligible to apply for CERN openlab Summer Student Program, 2017.
  • Candidates who have worked at CERN before for more than 3 months or those who have been previous CERN summer students are ineligible.
  • Applicants must possess good knowledge of the English language while knowing French would be advantageous.

Documents required:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Proof of enrollment for the current year at a university
  • Report on candidate forwarded to at least one referee/professor that is less than 6 months old.
  • Motivation letter specifying their area of work within the field of computing.
