More about this internship

  • ASEM-DUO/Wallonia-Brussels Fellowship Program, 2017 is providing opportunities to professors, lecturers, and researchers to undergo an exchange with a colleague in Asia and in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
  • The duration of the fellowship program is 1-3 months.
  • Candidates applying should be a member of the scientific or academic staff of an institution of an HEI of either Asia or Wallonia-Brussels.
  • The HEIs must be accredited/recognized by the accomplished authorities in the field of higher education.
  • The Asian institutions must be in one of the partner countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
  • The two HEIs of Asia and Wallonia-Brussels must have already signed or be intending to sign a cooperation agreement in the following two years.
  • Those who already begun their exchange prior to the application period of ASEM-DUO/Wallonia-Brussels Fellowship Program, 2017 are ineligible.
  • Professors can be of any nationality and any discipline.

Documents required:

The applicants of ASEM-DUO/Wallonia-Brussels Fellowship Program, 2017 must submit the following documents before the deadline:

  • Application form
  • A copy of academic cooperation agreement
  • A copy of passports of the two applicants
  • Resume of both applicants
  • Project description 

Selection criteria:

  • Academic and scientific excellence of the applicants and projects submitted
  • knowledge of languages of the applicants
  • Relevance of financial support for the applicants
  • Strength of relations between the two HEIs
  • The reason for the duration of the stay 
  • The impact that the grant will have on the work and professional career of the applicant, applicant's institution and Asia-Europe dialogue.
