The American Red Cross invites exceptional undergraduate and graduate students from many diverse backgrounds to join us in a variety of internship programs that introduce young leaders to the mission of the Red Cross. Our engaging internship programs give students real-world work experience by involving them in projects critical to the day-to-day work of our organization.
The summer program offers ten-week paid or unpaid internship opportunities at the Red Cross national headquarters office in Washington, D.C., as well as at more than 500 Red Cross units located across the U.S. The paid intern salaries range from $10/hour – $20/hour depending on experience, major and educational level.
Available internship positions vary from year to year according to our needs. Candidates may apply for as many paid and non-paid positions as they desire, however they must apply for a specific position to be considered.
Internships are offered year round at our national headquarters office in D.C. and in Red Cross units around the country.
Housing and relocation are not provided by the Red Cross.
The Red Cross offers both paid and non-paid summer internships.
Number of awards offered: The program offers approximately 85 internship positions in almost every Red Cross line of business.
Internship Duration: Internship will run from June 6 through August 12, 2016.
