Hello Aditya Should I go to Duke or the University of Chicago?
I look forward to UChicago's intellectual environment but I'm concerned about prospects in finance or consulting. I know UChicago values the "life of the mind" (and I love that!) but investing in college requires that I consider long-term returns. #adityaAmA
I really respect your thinking and know what you feel like because I had the similar approach. Only one difference was that I did not want to go to a college that would make me an academic scholar. I chose a place with holistic learning and a place where soft skills and networking are taught as well. That was my choice but I'm really glad you chose the right note to search colleges with. An environment matters A LOT and only you know what will push you to be the best. If its a scholarly and intellectual environment that you want to be in, you should go with it. :) If you perform well and are happy with what you do, long term returns won't matter in both.
