About this course

The Master of Tourism, Hotel and Event Management offers a career in one of these dynamic and exciting industries. It also provides existing managers in these sectors with a high-level qualification to enhance their career progression.

Develop the core skills of students through a range of compulsory courses and choose specialist courses in the areas of travel and tourism management, hotel management and event management. The program includes a work-integrated learning component to develop their capabilities for professional practice.

The Master (1.5 years) is designed for those graduates with a Bachelor's degree in the same discipline.This field is designed to give students the skills to transition to an international career in hotel and resort management. The specialisation builds on foundation courses by developing advanced knowledge of hotel and food and beverage operations, service quality and the global hospitality industry.

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Requirement:

 For Australian students:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in the same discipline as approved by the Executive Dean with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale.

 For International students:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in the same discipline as approved by the Executive Dean with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale.
  • IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6.Study Abroad and Incoming Exchange students are only required to meet the overall score (eg 6.5 IELTS or 87 TOEFL or 64 PTE( Pearson Test of English )).
  • TOEFL (Paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language): 570 (5.0 in TWE (written), and 54 in reading & listening).

English language requirement:

  • IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6.
