About this course

This programme is a ticket to excellent career prospects. Students may find employment working as an actuary or a risk manager with an insurance company, an actuarial consultancy firm or a pension fund. The actuarial profession is one of highest rewarding on the current labour market. In recent years, the mathematical and specialist modelling skills of the actuary have also seen demand from companies outside the insurance world.

The Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) track offers a slightly broader foundation in Actuarial Sciences & Mathematical Finance, featuring two extra required modules.

Course Modules

 First semester

The year begins with a set of four mandatory courses in periods 1 and 2 of the first semester.

  • Financial Mathematics for Insurance
  • Non-Life Insurance
  • Risk Management for Insurers and Pensions
  • Banking Risk Management (covers banking regulation and supervision, macro-prudential policy, and credit and liquidity risk management)

Second semester

During the second semester, students extend theirr expertise by following advanced courses in Asset Liability Management and Financial Econometrics, plus a choice of elective courses, before completing their Master’s thesis.
