This course provides a broad training in research and prepares students for a research career in cancer biology. There is also a Cancer Informatics stream, offering world-class training in research at the interface between computational and clinical translational science.

The course embraces cutting-edge developments in the field, and you will experience some of the most technologically advanced approaches currently being applied to the broad field of cancer research.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum academic requirement
2:1 Honours degree in an appropriate science subject.

Course Modules

The course begins with an 8-week taught component covering an introduction to clinical and pathological aspects of carcinogenesis, and includes a series of workshops covering transferable skills such as oral presentations of science data and grant writing.

It is followed by two 19-week research placements with the Imperial College Cancer Research UK Centre, the Faculty of Medicine at the Hammersmith Hospital campus and other collaborating institutes in London.

Cancer informatics stream
This stream is a full-time research-orientated taught cause and will prepare students for a research career in cancer biology. When applying, please indicate that you are applying for the Cancer Informatics stream.
