About this course
As Plant Protection graduates, students will play an essential role in the global challenges of producing sustainable, high quality, nutritious food for an increasing world population, while maintaining our environment and quality of life in urban areas. Students will develop research, multi-disciplinary and leadership skills to enable students to integrate and apply knowledge across the production to consumption chain.
The program has been designed to develop core research and leadership skills, scientific knowledge of plant protection but with the flexibility to allow students to select electives from Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, Animal, Social and Food Sciences. Students will have the opportunity to visit production sites in southern Queensland and will complete a significant research project in a selected area of interest. Please note this field is offered at both the St Lucia and Gatton campus. Please be mindful of this when selecting courses.
