About this course

The Master of Science (Exercise and Sport Studies) programme is designed for participants with an interest in physical education, sports, fitness, health and wellness. It is structured to provide a balanced coverage of pedagogy, psychosocial, management and scientific aspects of human movement. It aims to enable professionals to upgrade their qualifications either for career advancement in schools or to qualify them to work in other sport science and management positions.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates require the following to be eligible:

  • A good Bachelor’s degree, preferably with strong honours, in exercise and sport studies or a related field; or
  • A good Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, not in exercise and sport studies, with a diploma (credit) or postgraduate diploma in exercise and sport studies (credit) or its equivalent; and
  • Professional experience that commensurate with the programme’s content and outcomes.
  • Interviews may be conducted to determine applicant’s suitability for the programme.

Course Modules

There are two options within this programme. You are required to either:

  • Complete 8 courses plus a dissertation (Dissertation option), or
  • Complete 10 courses (Coursework-only option)

How to Apply

The application documents must be arranged and submitted in the following order:

  • Hardcopy printout of the Application Form, signed at the Affirmation Section and affixed a Passport-sized photograph on the Application Form
  • Photocopy of your National Registration Identity Card (NRIC)(front and back). If you do not have an NRIC, please provide a copy of your passport information page(s)(containing the passport number, name, etc.)
  • Completed Photo Form
  • Completed Coursework Supplementary Form
  • Coursework Supplementary Form (Applicable to all Coursework programmes. To submit one Supplementary Information Form for each programme applied.)
  • Photocopy of Degree Scrolls / Certificates (Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, etc.)
  • Photocopy of Transcripts (Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, etc.). Please note that:
  • A transcript of detailed academic results is required from each university or college attended. The transcript results should show marks (wherever possible) and grades obtained in each module. If the transcript is in a language other than English, please provide an official English translation as well and the modules in the translation should be listed in the same order as that of the original transcript
  • If a complete transcript is not available, please include a complete photocopied set of examination results for every semester
  • TOEFL / IELTS Score  (Applicable to graduates of universities with non-English medium instruction)
