About this course

The Master’s in Classics and Ancient Civilisations is jointly taught by the University of Amsterdam and the VU University Amsterdam via the Amsterdam Centre for Ancient Studies and Archaeology (ACASA). The Master’s programme Classics forms part of this joint programme. By pooling their resources in ACASA, the two Amsterdam-based universities offer the broadest package of Master’s programmes in the field of Classical Antiquity in the Netherlands

  • The Master’s in Classics is open for application to all students with a Bachelor’s diploma from the UvA or from another accredited university, in:
    • Greek and Latin language and culture
    • Latin language and culture
    • Ancient Studies (VU)
  • English language requirements: New Master's students should be able to speak, read, write and understand English at advanced academic level.
  • Application documents: To apply for this Master's programme students need to upload all of the application documents.
