About this course

The College of Engineering launched the Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Maritime Studies in July 2004. The programme focuses primarily on tertiary education in shipping, business, management, and maritime science and technology, to build up the students expertise of the local shipping industry. 

Fresh graduates are expected to be employed in a broad and diverse range of shore-based jobs which include Marine Operations Executive, Chartering Executive, Logistics Executive, Freight Forwarding Executive, Warehouse Planner, Post-Fixture Executive, Trade/Pricing Executive, Manager (Voyage Planning), Accounts Manager (Sea Freight), Supply Chain Coordinator, Shipping Executive, Cargo Claims Manager, Export/Import Executive, Brokerage Executive, Analyst (Market Intelligence) and Business Development Manager.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants with qualifications as deemed fit by the university (based on their online application) may be required to sit for an NTU Entrance Examination before a final decision on admission can be made. 

Prerequisites for this course include: Additional Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Science at Junior High School Level / Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry/Biology at IB Standard Level
