About this course

Graduates from this programme can explore further education leading to professions such as counseling psychologist, occupational psychologist, clinical psychologist, educational psychologist and neuropsychologist. This is an interdisciplinary programme between School of Humanities & Social Sciences and School of Biological Sciences that incorporates existing Psychology courses and Biological Sciences courses, respectively. Courses to be read by students come from existing ones in both programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants with qualifications as deemed fit by the university (based on their online application) may be required to sit for an NTU Entrance Examination before a final decision on admission can be made. 

Prerequisites for this course are:  Mathematics at Junior High School Level / IB Standard Level AND Physics/Chemistry/Biology at Senior High School Level / IB Higher Level

Course Modules

Psychology Core

  • HP1000 Introduction to Psychology
  • HP1100 Fundamentals of Social Science Research

Students should select three courses from the following:

  • HP2100 Research Design and Data Analysis in Psychology 
  • HP2200 Biological Psychology 
  • HP2300 Developmental Psychology 
  • HP2400 Social Psychology 
  • HP2500 Personality and Individual Differences
  • HP2600 Cognitive Psychology 
  • HP2700 Abnormal Psychology

Psychology Elective

Psychology electives are level 3000 and 4000 courses. Students should complete six Psychology elective courses, out of which at least two should be level 4000 courses.

Apart from that the standard course curriculum of Biological Sciences with the exemption of a few unrestricted electives must be completed for graduation.
