About this course

The Bachelor of Business Management provides a comprehensive basis for a career in business while being flexible enough to let students pursue areas that particularly interest them. It is designed to equip students with the skills and self-confidence to effectively manage and adapt to a wide range of competitive and constantly changing business environments.

The compulsory courses allow students to develop core business skills. Students can then build on these by selecting one or two specialist areas including advertising, business economics, business information systems, human resources, international business, marketing, real estate and development, and sustainability. UQ Business School's lecturers and tutors are industry leaders and our vast network of industry contacts means they can develop practical experience at some of the world's leading companies.

This major examines the professional organisations and institutions involved in the property industry, leading graduates to challenging careers within the industry. Students will develop their knowledge of business and land economic principles for application in the real world. Courses explore property law finance and investment; asset management; town planning; and property valuation. Advanced software and computer programs are used to solve business problems relating to land development and management.Graduates find employment in property investment, development, management and valuation.

Eligibility Criteria

English language requirement:

  • At least 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-band of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent test.
  • Study Abroad and Incoming Exchange students are only required to meet the overall score (eg 6.5 IELTS or 87 TOEFL or 64 PTE( Pearson Test of English )).

Academic Requirement:

  •  For Australian students:

           1)OP/Entry Rank 2016:9/81
           2)Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) English, Mathematics A or any combination of Mathematics A, B or C.

  •  For International students:

          1) Equivalent qualifications of Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) English, Mathematics A or any combination of Mathematics A, B or C.

          2)At least 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-band of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent test.
