About this course

The honours program in business management provides students with an extra year of high quality study to enhance their business and research skills.An honours degree demonstrates to employers that graduates of this course are someone with exceptional ability and superior skills. Places are strictly limited and are competed for on the basis of academic merit.In addition to compulsory courses, including a research thesis, students can choose to study specialist areas in the fields of management, or real estate and development.

This field is aimed at high achieving students who have completed a Bachelor of Business Management in a management-related field such as eBusiness; Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations; International Business; Management and Organisations; or Marketing and who wish to pursue an honours year.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Business Management Honours program in the field of Management can expect to find career opportunities within both public and private sector organisations. A wide range of specific employment opportunities include: business economics, business policy and strategy, business research and consulting, entrepreneurship, general management positions, industrial relations, international business, marketing negotiation and advocacy, occupational health and safety management,sales and retailing, small business and human resource management, staff recruitment and selection, staff training and development.

Eligibility Criteria

English language requirement:

  • At least 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-band of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent test.
  • Study Abroad and Incoming Exchange students are only required to meet the overall score (eg 6.5 IELTS or 87 TOEFL or 64 PTE( Pearson Test of English )).

Academic Requirement:

  •  For Australian students:To enrol for honours, a student must complete the Bachelor of Business Management program requirements or equivalent with a GPA of at least 5.5.
  •  For International students:

          1) To enrol for honours, a student must complete the Bachelor of Business Management program requirements or equivalent with a GPA of at least 5.5.

          2)At least 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-band of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent test.
