Eligibility Criteria

High School in a European Union Member*

If you conclude your High School in an EU country, you have to submit your application through the Spanish National University for Distance Education (UNED) as
explained below.

  • From April, fill the online application form - solicitud de credencial – at UNED website.
  • Append attested translated copies of the required documents: Passport, High School Academic Reports of the last three years, High School Diploma.
  • You will receive the UNED Credential, giving you legal access to the Bachelor Degree of UCAM. Present it on the online application form in UCAM website.
    * Students from Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein or China should also follow this procedure due to the international educational agreements between these countries and European Union.

High School in non-EU Country

  • If you conclude your High School in a country that is not a European member, you must have your high school studies (or equivalent) officially accredited (homologación). To carry out this process, you should apply to the Ministry of Education and follow the indicated procedure to accredit your pre-university studies. Please note that this process is done outside UCAM and through governmental institutions, so it would be a good idea to start it a couple of months before the admission request.

International Baccalaureate Diploma, IGCSE, Non-European High Schools with European programs

  • The IB Diploma is recognized as equivalent to the Spanish High School Diploma - Titulo de bachillerato español. The students of IB who want to apply for a bachelor’s degree at UCAM don’t have to take the Selectividad exam, even if they come from a non-European country. The student must apply through UNED, like European
students, requesting the Credential. The IB Diploma has to be legalized by a notary and be legally translated into Spanish.
