About this course

The Double Major Degree will offer students the opportunity to specialise in any two major academic disciplines and will encourage a multidisciplinary educational and intellectual focus; it will equip students with the transferable skills of a liberal arts education for successful careers in the rapidly changing environment of the 21st century. Graduates from this programme will be suitable employees in both the public and private sectors in Singapore and beyond. Key combinations of disciplines will also facilitate comparative intellectual insights and nourish a mature capacity to engage different perspectives, research approaches, and interpretive strategies.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants with qualifications as deemed fit by the university (based on their online application) may be required to sit for an NTU Entrance Examination before a final decision on admission can be made. 

Prerequisites for this course are:  A good grade in Additional Mathematics at Junior High School Level / Mathematics at IB Standard Level and A good grade in English at Senior High School Level / IB Standard Level

To graduate, students are required to complete 137 academic units (AUs) from the General Education Requirements (GER) and Major Prescribed Electives groups of both respective majors apart from the core courses of the same.

Public Policy and Global Affairs Core: (15 + 8 AUs)

Economics Core: (15 AUs)

  • HE1001 Microeconomics Principles

  • HE2001 Intermediate Microeconomics

  • HE2004 Introductory Econometrics OR HE2005 Principles of Econometrics

Public Policy and Global Affairs Prescribed Electives: (10-11 Courses: 35 AUs)

  • Five  HA1XXX/HA2XXX/ HA3XXX courses (15 AUs) and Five HA4XXX courses (20 AUs)
  • Eight HA1XXX/HA2XXX/ HA3XXX (24 AUs) and Three HA4XXX courses (12 AUs)

Students may fulfill the remaining AUs from any school.
