About this course

On this course, you will combine philosophy with study in religion and theology, taking an equal number of credits in each subject.

For Philosophy, you will study units including Introduction to Philosophy, Logic and Realism and Normativity, as well as undertaking an extended essay.

For Religion and Theology, you will take the Symposium in Religion and Theology unit (a small, intensive seminar) in your first year, as well as a combination of mandatory and optional units throughout the course. You will also have the option of writing a dissertation in your final year.

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • A-levels - AAA
  • A-levels(contextual offer) - AAB
  • IB Diploma - 36 overall to include 18 points at Higher Level
  • IB Diploma(contextual offer) - 34 overall to include 17 points at Higher Level
  • Cambridge Pre-U - Requirements are as for A-levels, where Grade A* is D2, A is D3, B is M2, and C is M3
  • Access - Pass Access to HE Diploma with at least 30 credits at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit*
  • BTEC – DDD. 
  • SQA - SH: AAAAB and AH: AA
  •  EB – 85% overall
  • Subjects required - Grade B or above in Mathematics. In England, where numerical GCSE grades will start to replace letter GCSE grades, we will be aligning the two grading schemes as follows: 4 or 5 is C, 6 is B, 7 is A, and 8 or 9 is A*.

English language requirements :

One of the following:

• IELTS : 7.0 overall, minimum 7.0 in writing and 6.5 in other bands
• TOEFL : 100 minimum 24 any part, 27 in writing.
• SAT : 630
• ACT : 26
