About this course

A new interdisciplinary program towards a Bachelor of Media Studies (BMS) is an exciting opportunity for a professionally focussed student cohort. Subject to competitive academic average and portfolio submission, you can apply for entry to the four-year program direct from high school. The aim is to equip you with theoretical and applied skills, leading to many exciting career options.    Courses cover an exceptionally broad range of disciplines, including:

Eligibility Criteria

You can come directly from secondary school (including, for example, Gymnasium, International Baccalaureate or British-Patterned Education) or may transfer to UBC after one or two years at another accredited institution. International Students in the Faculty of Forestry can apply for the Co-op work placements or our exchange programs in the faculty.

Course Modules

A minimum of 120 credits. A minimum of 48 of these credits must be completed at the upper level through courses numbered 300 and above. Once accepted into the B.M.S. program, students are expected to complete all of their coursework at the UBC Vancouver Campus, with the exception of credit completed through a UBC Go Global student exchange experience.
