Everything else is secondary
I remember back in my college days when I got my first iPhone, just because everyone else tried to have one.
I came to realise that it was just another phone for me, as a student it didn’t make any big change to my life except for the big bucks I had to shell out for the one.
It had all the basic functionalities and reasons that I would look for any other phone in the market.
The curiosity to know why? and how? Apple is a million dollar cow. I started following this company who bit their own logo before putting it up there on branding!
It stopped at one person, Steve Jobs and what he said at his Stanford University commencement address:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice.
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary.”
His words rang in my heart like an inspiration for life as it did with the thousands who heard him say the three stories of his life.
What do I realise from his achievements or life journey is about a human soul, just like me who didn’t knew what and who I would become to be? What the future holds for me, but at the very core believed in some ideas and dreams, I wanted to live in. He started at the same point or even worst but went on to become one of the greatest minds of the 21st century.
Everything has a beginning and an ending. Only difference is whether it’s a happy ending or not? Everything else is secondary.
