5 Steps to help you with your study abroad application

Planning to study abroad? Don’t Know where to start from? Need guidance on your Study abroad application?

Well, look no further! We’ve sorted it out for you. With so many opportunities abroad and so many countries to go to, it can get a little difficult to decide where to get started. And the deadlines pass by while you drag your feet wondering what to do first. But, trust me, it’s a whole lot easier than you may think!

Following five steps will help you get yourself organized to feel more confident about your study abroad application


1. End of the program requirements

  • If you are planning to stay after graduation, apply for university directly.
  • If you are planning to come back, apply via embassy scholarships.

Application via embassy scholarships is an easier way to secure admission abroad if you have a compelling SOP and LOR. It also increases the likelihood of your admission. However, most of the embassy scholarships impose that you have to return to your home country after graduation. Therefore, if you plan on staying abroad after graduation, you should apply for university directly and look for financial aids and scholarships offered by the university.

2. Application process requirements

  • Check whether you need TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, GRE and GMAT.
  • Be realistic with your knowledge when applying.

It’s always advisable to check the applications process requirements before preparing your application. You have to check language proficiency requirements: whether you need IELTS, TOEFL or PTE. Check whether you need GRE or GMAT. It’s wise to make a checklist of application process requirements and take required tests well before you plan on applying.

3. Documents

Make sure

  • Your passport is ready.
  • Referees are eager to write a letter and be available for phone calls.
  • Resumes/CVs are adopted to US, UK or Australian panels.

Prepare you documents beforehand to avoid any hustle while applying. Make sure your passport’s not expired, your letters of recommendation are ready, your resume is up-to-date, and your test scores are readily available to the university.

4. Finance

Make sure you have set some funds aside for online application processing fee or delivery through courier services. It’s wise to allocate a small amount of budget for small expenses like DHL delivery, online payments.

5. Support

It’s always better to work with someone who has already won an award and studying abroad. Social networking can be helpful to find someone who’s undergone the same program.
